Blake Turns 1!!!

Yesterday Blake turned 1 year old! We had friends and family come to an indoor beach party. We set up umbrellas and tables and had a surfboard table. After eating dinner we all dove into the pool for some sweet swimming! Blake had such a fun time playing with his cousins and friends. He especially liked the super chocolate birthday cake. Instead of blowing out the candle, he tried to put out the flame with his fingers. Luckily, we caught his hand before he burned himself. Anyway, when we finally let him put his hands into the cake, he was a little nervous. He grabbed the frosting and didn't like that it stuck to his hand. In effort to get the frosting off, he picked up some cake and threw it onto Kattie (my sister). It was really funny. I had to wrestle with him to get his clothes off before he tracked cake all over the room. By the end of the night he was so tired but very happy from such a fun day!

Yummy Cake!

Hold still....

Tired after too much fun!

Matchbox 20

For a Valentine's Day/Birthday presents, my parents got tickets for Matchbox 20 for my sister and I and our husbands. I hadn't been to a concert since high school. A wild and crazy night with the Backstreet Boys. Laugh if you want to. I really liked them...I'm not ashamed. Actually I'll even admit that I went to see them twice.

Anyway the concert was on March 6th at the E-Center. It was amazing! Alanis Morisette was the opening act. Isn't it "ironic"? Ha ha, I couldn't help myself. Beside the fact that she was spinning around the stage like a crazy person, she was very good. She sang a lot of songs off of her "Jagged Little Pill" album. It really took me back to 7th and 8th grade...without the embarassing braces and akward adolescent behaviors (I don't think I need to expound on that). Matchbox 20 was an incredible band! I have been a fan, but it was awesome to see them in person. The great thing is that they sang all of their old popular songs and a lot of new stuff. Unlike many artists, they actually sound like their recording while singing live. And in case you were wondering, a little Milly-Vanilly lip synching was not happening! We had really great seats and got some amazing pictures. Thanks Mom and Dad for the great gift! We had so much fun and you're the coolest parents!
