I have to admit...

After years of pretending...I'll come right out and say it. I'm a closet cook! I really like to-- no, love to cook. I love making delicious food and watching it gobbled up by Spencer and Blake. Quite often I'll complain about dinner time. That is only because I am trying to enjoy my moment of solace in the kitchen with my friends: Olive Oil, Salt, and Garlic.

Blake makes every attempt to thwart my happiness when the clock hits 5.

All you moms out there know what I'm talking about. It's when your kids are hanging on you because they are starved out of their minds as you are frantically throwing things together. Somehow, it is hard to like to cook when all you can think about the fastest thing to put in their noisy little hungry mouths. Out of sheer desperation, you go for the good old backup (for me it's usually Mac-n-Cheese).

Despite the 5 o'clock crunch time, I love to cook. On any given day, you can find me watching the food network, surfing the web for yummy tasties for dinner, or cooking in my kitchen. Don't get me wrong, I'm not labelling myself as a fantastic chef--I'm not that creative. But give me a recipe or an idea of what it's supposed to look like and I can whip it up (with an obvious dash of me)!

Unfortunately I'm a perfectionist when it comes to food. The funny thing is that I won't taste my food before I sit down to eat it. I don't steal little nibbles here or there during the cooking process. I just go by the way it smells and the texture. This technique (if you can even call it that) has proven itself over and over--except a really bad evening of beef curry that I'd rather not talk about.

So ladies, strap on your designer aprons and join me for a little food and a lot of fun! I'm always looking for new recipes, so I'd love some of your fav's! Bon Apetite!

Temple Square

One of our favorite things to do during Christmas is to see the lights on Temple Square. We were able to go twice this year and Blake loved every minute of it! Christmas was great...but our camera was on the blink, so unfortunately we don't have many pictures of it. I will post them when I get some from family members that don't have cheap cameras!
